Medical Mission

Share

In my life I have always been in search for meaning.  The meaning is what propels me to seek and understand more deeply than I ever thought was possible.  Serving people with my gifts as a physician and a healer helps me to dig more deeply into the recesses of my own faith to truly discover what I am capable of doing.  For the Christ has said,

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. ~John 14:12

What organization I will be traveling with:

NDI – Natural Doctors International is an organization that sends naturopathic physicians, naturopathic medical students, and other doctors/medical students alike that want to serve developing nations that require medical care. This year a possible 18 of us will be traveling to the island Ometepe in Nicaragua to provide medical assistance through a clinic on the island to those that require medical attention. We will be using all of our skills as physicians using our many natural therapies to treat all kinds of conditions, whether acute, chronic, pediatric or geriatric; we will have the chance to see it all!

THE NEXT TRIP IS APRIL 2011

DONATE NOW!

How easy it is to be involved:

We are all very capable of doing what Jesus has done but it is a matter of how we CHOOSE to live our lives that makes the difference.  Some people say that they do not have time to serve those in need. My comment to them is to give freely of your monetary prosperity, so that those of us that those spending the time will be taken care of.  It is truly very simple.  In lieu of these ideas, I have asked that if 200 people could bless me with $10, I would very easily be able to attend this trip.  It is a wonderful blessing if more could be donated, but any amount will do.

I need to raise $330 more in the next 3 weeks to even be considered for this trip!  This is date is December 12, 2010.  Please do not hesitate.  It is extremely easy to give $10, especially when it is done on a credit card! It is also tax-deductible when you decide to go through the site at: Firstgiving or you can use the URL – www.firstgiving.com/dereksimpson26

I need to also finish fundraising by February 15, 2011 to a maximum on line at Firstgiving or www.firstgiving.com/dereksimpson26 to pay for the course, room and board, and other expenses that I will incur while in Nicaragua.

Finally, $900 is required of me to buy airfare and miscellaneous costs, none of which can be tax-deductible but absolutely needs to be fundraised for.  If you personally cannot give, I understand, but find someone that can!  If you struggling financially at this time and you have the “gift of gab,” tell all your friends about it that may be interested as well.

Also each one us is required to bring donations to the island. This can include medicines, supplements, protein powders, itch cremes, kid’s formulas… truly the sky is the limit. Please contact me at drjsimpson1@gmail.com if you are interested in how to donate physical items.

I will be writing a blog during my fundraising campaign and trip to Nicaragua at: drdereksimpson.wordpress.com I hope that you decide to keep up with me as I keep up with my heart’s desire as a bringer of health and peace.

In all great things, I will be praying abundantly for you all,

Dr. Derek :)
